What is Community Connection?
Kaleidoscope strives to be a part of our local community, supporting people and their families living with cancer and
other life-threatening illnesses. We outreach to all community members, from children to senior citizens, by offering a
variety of services as listed below.
Bags of Hope: A Bag of Hope is a gift bag full of thoughtful items tailored to meet the needs of the recipient. It begins as an acknowledgement of the trauma brought on by a cancer diagnosis. It becomes a meaningful and supportive connection between the receiver, the giver, and Kaleidoscope. We deliver Bags of Hope to people who are referred to us by their friends and families in our neighboring communities.
Connection Team: Once a Bag of Hope has been delivered, the Connection Team makes a personal contact with the recipient to offer additional services such as support groups, meals, counseling, spiritual care, and Kaleidoscope Kids.
Kaleidoscope Information Connection Circle: Everyone who is interested in Kaleidoscope is welcome to attend our Connection Circle. We meet the third Tuesday of every month at 10:00. Emphasis are on specific topics to discuss, a guest speaker or special projects which are open to the community to participate. Check our calendar for upcoming future topics.
Kaleidoscope Kids Club: Kaleidoscope Kids is a group of children, young people, and their parents who meet monthly with the purpose of making a difference in someone’s life. As the kids make craft projects for the Bags of Hope, share stories, and play games, they build friendships and learn the values of generosity and compassion.
Kaleidoscope Kids Celebrations: A program developed for children diagnosed with cancer. We celebrate holidays and birthdays with children in a family environment that is safe for their compromised immune systems.
